MdChecker Privacy Policy

MdChecker is a Markdown document reader and editor provided by ref979factor. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.

Documents and connected services

• Documents you open or edit remain on your device, in your private iCloud container when you choose iCloud, or in GitHub repositories you connect.
• GitHub authentication tokens are stored in Apple's Keychain and are sent only to GitHub to perform actions you request. You can disconnect GitHub in the app or revoke access in GitHub settings.
• ref979factor does not operate a server that receives the contents of your documents.

Analytics and advertising

The iPhone and iPad app uses Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate app usage and Google AdMob to display ads to free users. Depending on your region, consent choices, and device settings, Google may process device identifiers, product interactions, advertising data, approximate location derived from network information, and diagnostic or performance data. MdChecker asks for advertising consent where required. Pro subscribers do not receive AdMob banner or app open ads.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. MdChecker receives purchase status needed to unlock Pro, but does not receive your payment card details.

Sharing and retention

Information is shared only with Apple, GitHub, Google Firebase, and Google AdMob as needed for the features described above. Their own privacy policies govern their processing. Local app data remains until you remove it. Data stored by connected providers follows the provider's retention controls.

Your choices

You can decline optional advertising consent, purchase Pro to remove ads, disconnect GitHub, delete local or iCloud documents, and remove the app. You may also use the privacy controls offered by Apple, Google, and GitHub.

Children

MdChecker is a general productivity app and is not directed to children under 13.
